High Power Radio Frequency Engineer

Salary: £31,931 - £44,166 (plus an additional responsibility allowance dependent on skills and experience)

Contract Type: Open Ended

Location: Daresbury Laboratory, Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus, Warrington, WA4 4AD

Accelerator Science and Technology Centre (ASTeC) are looking for an outstanding Radio Frequency Engineer, to join our team working on accelerator projects such as the next generation test facility Compact Linear Accelerator for Research and Applications (CLARA) and the European Spallation Source (ESS).

In this role you will be part of a diverse team responsible for the design, development, and implementation of High-Power RF systems for our various particle accelerator projects. Working to design RF structures (RF guns, cavities, and waveguide systems). Collaborating with other laboratories and fabrication companies to facilitate the delivery of High-Power RF systems commissioning, conditioning and optimising RF systems to support the operation of the accelerator facilities and supporting the development of new RF cavity technologies and manufacturing techniques.

About You

We are looking for two highly motivated and enthusiastic engineers or scientists qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering subject. They will have experience with high power RF technologies and ideally have an interest in RF aspects of accelerators.

Experienced with High Power RF structure design and operation

Ideally knowledgeable about superconducting RF systems.
