About the role:

We have opportunities for talented Engineers to join our Synthetic Environments and Simulation team which consists of a vibrant group of engineers from a range of scientific, mathematical and creative backgrounds. Simulation technologies underpin a wide range of customer needs, including training and education, test and evaluation and experimentation. The team undertakes a variety of work including researching new and innovative technologies, building concept and capability demonstrators, providing customer advice and consultancy, and developing and delivering systems to support military exercises.

We draw on our extensive technical knowledge and intellectual property to provide the know-how and support to solve some of the world’s most challenging problems. Our people make the critical difference to customers by providing unique approaches to problem solving.

What I will be doing:

  • Modelling and configuring simulation components using a variety of tools e.g. 3D models, terrains, Computer Generated Forces scenarios/vignettes;
  • You will be conducting practical and theoretical research, considering the use of emerging technologies and training theories to provide evidence and ideas for training systems;
  • Specification and development of simulation systems using a blend of off-the-shelf capabilities, including “serious games” and bespoke software;
  • You will be responsible for the integration of innovative solutions using a range of technologies and concepts, such as Virtual or Augmented Reality and Live, Virtual & Constructive (LVC) blends;
  • Engagement with customers and industry partners to understand project requirements, develop effective relationships and deliver acceptable outcomes.

What do I need?

  • Degree in Science/Engineering with 2-3 years of industry experience or PhD qualified;
  • Technical hands-on experience is essential.
