We are advertising a PhD student position in observational cosmology with a focus on the cosmic microwave background (CMB). The program will take place within the Physics Department at the University of Iceland. The position is funded for a minimum of three years with funds from the European Research Council.

The PhD student will join the CMBeam team ( http://cmbeam.com/ ) and the thesis work can have components from a combination of data analysis and various instrumentation efforts.

Thes research will likely be conducted in the context of existing CMB experiments that group members are participating in, including but not limited to the Simons Observatory, the Taurus balloon-borne experiment, and LiteBIRD.

The student is expected to collaborate with other physicists, both at the University of Iceland, as well as other institutions across the world.
