Call for expression of interest for Faculty positions in Physics at the University of Pisa, Italy.
The Department of Physics of the University of Pisa (https://www.df.unipi.it/en/) is an internationally recognized center for scientific research and advanced education in Physics and in its interdisciplinary applications. To enhance our academic program, we are seeking scientists with an outstanding record of high impact research and scientific leadership.
The Department of Physics invites expressions of interest in view of the possible activation of permanent positions at the Associate and/or Full Professor level from any fields in Physics, covered through a direct call procedure.
According to the Direct Calls program of the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research (L.230 art. 1 c.9) positions could be addressed to:
- Scientists and scholars who have been working abroad with an equivalent position for at least three years;
- Recipients of European Research Council (ERC) grant.
The successful candidates will be expected to actively contribute to the Department development, by excellent teaching and participation in large-scale and highly competitive grant applications.
Teaching may be delivered in Italian or in English. Although knowledge of Italian is not a prerequisite, it is expected that hired candidates will develop, over the course of the first two years upon recruitment, a level of knowledge adequate to allow an active participation in all the activities of the Department.
Applications must be submitted electronically at this link not after December 31st 2024. Applicants are requested to submit a brief CV, a list of publications, and a research statement.
The Department of Physics is committed to increasing the gender balance of its faculty and particularly welcomes applications from qualified women.
For successful candidates having held academic positions abroad, there are some tax benefits, as, for example, a tax relief on 90% of the salary that may be granted for a duration from 6 to 13 years. For more detailed information on tax benefits see the following link.
Submission of an application does not entitle the applicant to admission to the procedures of access to the teaching roles of the university.
