(Postdoc - 24 months):

The candidate will work within the CMS group (the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at the CERN LHC) at IP2I-Lyon. He/she will play a key role in the CMS data analyzes, carried by the group in the field of the Higgs sector. He/she will also contribute to the performance study and development of complete simulations of future trackers as part of the FCC accelerator project at CERN.

The selected candidate is expected to be primarily (70%) involved in the study of the HH→ bb𝛾𝛾 channel, initiated by the IP2I team, which presents excellent sensitivity to the HH production of the Standard Model and to the Higgs self-coupling. IP2I effort has focused on analyzing data from LHC Run 3 where it has confirmed its leadership role in the analysis within CMS. The postdoctoral fellow together with the IP2I group will play a leading role in the effort to finalize this analysis using the full Run 3 data sample (which should be complete in November 2025) and to prepare the final publication.

The postdoctoral fellow will also be involved at 30% of his/her time in tracking studies for the FCC project at CERN. Current studies ongoing at IP2I are in relation with R&D development in electronics and detector integration. These include the development and validation of digitization software in full simulation, and corresponding tracking-detector performance studies.
