The High Performance Computational Physics (HPCP) group led by Marina Marinkovic at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, at ETH Zürich invites applications for two PhD positions in lattice field theories, with a flexible start date in fall 2024.

The research interests of the group include various aspects of computational physics and particle phenomenology investigated through the prism of lattice gauge theories (LGT), as well as the interface of LGT with quantum information science and machine learning.

As an appointed graduate student in the HPCP group, you will be involved in different aspects of lattice QCD+QED computations of hadronic contributions to the muon magnetic moment and other hadronic observables. Additionally, you are expected participate in teaching activities at the institute, adapt existing and develop new research methodologies, disseminate results at specialized workshops and conferences, and actively participate in the academic life of the Institute for Theoretical Physics at ETH Zürich.

Candidates must have obtained a MSc in theoretical physics or related fields at the time of the appointment. A strong interest and/or previous experience in LGT and numerical simulations is expected.
